MIC + PREAMPTEST

This is the original blindtest, which saw the light of day 2002-11-24.
Follow-up and discussions around it (in swedish...) is found in VST-forum.

The new test recordings can be found at here and here (same content, with one server in Denmark and one in USA).

Those original recordings are only speech, so maybe they don't say as much as you'd wish - but anyway, here we go:

The level with mic 3 and 4 was very low, because they're live mics and therefore would have needed higher gain or closer distance...
The preamp's gain setting is identical on all recordings. All analog preamps have been recorded through the same AD-converter (RME ADI-8 PRO) and all sound files are unaltered - that is, not processed with compressor, limiter, dither or HP-filter (however, mic3 has a built-in HP-filter which can't be switched off). The files are in 32-bits FP format with 44.1kHz sampling frequency.
If you wish, you can download all files in one package as a 54MB zip-archive here.

If you wish to know which is which, you have the info here.

Best regards,
Claes Holmerup
